๐Ÿ“ How This Site Is Written

Editorial Policy

Who writes our pages, who checks them, where our facts come from and how we fix mistakes. Short rules, applied to every page.

๐Ÿ‘ฅ1. Every Page Has a Named Author and Reviewer

Each guide on this site shows three things at the top: who wrote it, who reviewed it and when it was last checked. Those names link to real profiles with real duties.

  • Author โ€” researches the topic, runs the steps, writes the page and picks the sources.
  • Reviewer โ€” repeats the steps independently and checks the maths, the wording and the screenshots.
  • Last updated โ€” the date the page was last checked. It only moves when something on the page actually changes.

The reviewer is always a different person from the author. You can read what each person does on our authors page.

๐Ÿ“š2. Where Our Facts Come From

Every factual claim on this site has one of four sources. If we cannot name a source, the claim does not go on the page.

  • Calculator stepsThe official Texas Instruments guidebook for the model. We host the PDF at /documentation/pdf/ so you can check the same page we used.
  • Exam rulesThe exam board's own calculator policy page, with a "policy checked" month printed next to the claim. We re-check these before each exam season.
  • Product detailsThe manufacturer's product page. If we quote a specification or a price, we date it.
  • Our own numbersWe only publish a number about this site when we can date it. We would rather drop a statistic than keep an old one.

๐Ÿงช3. How We Test Before Publishing

Tutorials are not published from memory. Every keystroke sequence is run in our own browser calculator and compared with the official guidebook.

The full method, including what we can and cannot test, is on the how we test page. Here is the short version:

  • We work the example by hand first, so we know the correct answer before we touch the calculator.
  • We run the sequence in the calculator, exactly as printed on the page, and screenshot the result.
  • We check our sequence against the guidebook's menu path, then run it again after any change to the calculator engine.

๐Ÿ”„4. Updates

Pages are reviewed on this schedule:

  • Exam policy pagesRe-checked before each SAT, ACT, AP and IB test window, then stamped with the month we checked.
  • Tutorial pagesRe-run after any update to the calculator engine, and whenever a reader reports a step that no longer matches.
  • Reference pagesChecked once a year, and immediately when a linked source changes.

๐Ÿ—‚๏ธ5. Corrections

Errors get fixed and logged. The log is public, dated and open to everyone at /corrections/.

To report a problem, email corrections@t84calculator.com and tell us the page and what looks wrong. You do not need an account and you do not need to be polite about it.

We aim to answer within five working days. If the report is correct, the page is updated and the change appears in the log with the date. If we disagree, we explain why in the same email.

๐Ÿค–6. Writing and Automation

Our pages are written by the named author and checked by the named reviewer. Software may help with spelling, grammar and formatting, but no page is published without a named person standing behind it.

We do not publish unreviewed auto-generated text, and we do not invent authors, reviewers or credentials. Where we cannot verify a qualification, we leave it out and say so on the author's profile.

โš–๏ธ7. Independence and Advertising

This site is free to use. It runs no advertising, no affiliate links and no sponsored content, so nobody can pay us to recommend a product.

We are independent of Texas Instruments and of every exam board we write about. This site is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Texas Instruments, and TI-84 Plus CE is a registered trademark of Texas Instruments.

Our calculator is a browser recreation built for study. It is not a substitute for the physical calculator you must bring to an exam that requires one.

ยฉ๏ธ8. Reusing Our Work

You may quote a short excerpt from a page if you credit us and link back to the page you used. Teachers may print pages for classroom use at no cost.

Please do not republish a full guide, or resell our content, without written permission. Write to corrections@t84calculator.com and we will usually say yes for educational use.
